Vivo Nex Fold might be available from Jan 2022
The coming months have a lot in store for fans of foldable phones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 are set to launch in the next few weeks. We may see a Google Pixel Fold shortly. And now it looks like a Vivo Nex Fold, the new foldable will be rolling out later in the year as well.
According to the well-known tipster, who says that we will see the Vivo NEX Fold before the end of 2021. The same source also says that the more traditional Vivo NEX 5 smartphone will not be launched in 2021. Weighing in on that same Twitter thread, display analyst Ross Young — says the Nex Fold won’t appear until January 2022. He added that it is going to be the largest foldable panel size.
Be it the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, that narrows the time frame when we can expect the appearance of the Vivo NEX Fold. It is also possible that the phone will be announced in 2021 before going on sale in 2022, or that the launch could be started depending on the region.

Biggest panel size in the world
This is a prediction that the Vivo NEX Fold will have the largest panel yet for this form factor. It means it will be bigger than the current record holder, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, with an 8.01-inch display. The Huawei Mate X2 isn’t far behind with an 8-inch screen either.
We’re definitely getting again into the tablet world if the Vivo NEX Fold comes with an even bigger panel. This is actually part of the point of a foldable phone – the advantages of a tablet screen in a device you can still fit in your pocket. For example, the current iPad mini has a 7.9-inch display.
Unfortunately at this stage, we don’t have too many details about the Vivo Nex Fold. But we are sure that more will be revealed in the coming months. Expect the specifications to be towards the premium end of the scale, to match the relatively high price tag.
Right now, all eyes are on what Samsung is going to do with its next foldable. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 with a screen size of 6.7 inches and Galaxy Z Fold 3 with 7.5 inches screen are widely expected to arrive in August. And also there will be some Galaxy smartwatches and the Galaxy Buds 2.

- Samsung Galaxy Fold 2
If you’re already convinced of the form factor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the only foldable worth considering. Especially if you think you can use it well enough and the mentioned cons aren’t a deal-breaker for you. There really isn’t any other phone that will deliver the same level of bragging rights. It can turn into a tablet on-demand and collapse into a phone that otherwise seems really futuristic. Early adopters beware of pricing and limitations, both of which are addressed by its successor.
